Location: The race begins at the Please Touch Museum (4231 Avenue of the Republic) in Philadelphia
Parking: There is limited parking at the museum as some of the roads surrounding it will be closed for the course beginning at 6am. You can park on and around Parkside Avenue as well as in the Mann Center parking lot. If you are driving, we suggest getting there early to secure a spot close to the race start. And carpool if possible.
Schedule of Events: Registration opens at 7:15am and closes at 8:15am. Once you're registered, take advantage of our entertainment (DJ, face painter, and balloon artist!) as well as the Miles 4Myeloma banner for photos ops. We then ask that you join us at the stage for the opening program beginning at 8:00am where we'll be recognizing some our own in the myeloma community of Philadelphia. The 5k runners will begin at 8:30am and the walkers at 8:40am.
Pre-registration Check In Process: If you pre-registered, go to the pre-registration table located near the start line when you arrive. There you will receive your bib, t-shirt, and goodie bag (thanks sponsors!). PLEASE double-check the information on the back of your bib when you receive it. The information will include your name, age, gender, and shirt size. If ANY of this information is incorrect, please let a volunteer at the registration area know.
Day of Registration Process: We will be accepting walk-up registration on Saturday morning. If you know someone who would like to join, bring them along! Cash or check payments are preferred, but we will also have a credit card swiper on hand if needed. Day-of registration is $35 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under.
Team Check In: If you are pre-registered as a member of a team with at least 15 participants, your team will have a designated tent. Your bibs and t-shirts will be at your team tent, so no need to come to the registration booth. The volunteers at the information table (at Concourse and East Memorial Hall Drive) will have a list of the teams with tents so you can easily find your group. Again, if any of the information on your bib is wrong, or if your bib or shirt is not included, come to registration and speak to a volunteer.
Timing: All runners will get bibs with timing chips attached for official race results. Please wear your bib on the front of your shirt. Walkers will receive bibs as well, but they will not include a timing chip and therefore will not appear in the timing results.
Weather: Everyone's favorite topic! It's time for us at M4M headquarters to start obsessively watching the weather! At the moment, it's expected to be a bright and sunny day with mild temps (low 50s). Our event is rain-or-shine, so even if Friday's forecasted rain creeps past the midnight hour, the event will still be on! In the event of thunderstorms though, we will cancel to keep everyone safe. Keep an eye out for an email notification on Friday morning IF the event is canceled. If you don't hear from us, assume it is on.
Toilets: There will be toilets open and available in the registration area.
Course/water stop: Click on the "Course and Directions" menu item for a map of the course to familiarize yourself. There will be course markings along the way. Thanks to New York Life Insurance, there will be a water stop about halfway through the course (where S. Horticulture and Lansdowne meet). There will also be water and snacks available at the finish line.
Awards: At approximately 9:15am, we will present the overall and age group winners for the run. Please join us at the stage for this presentation.
