June 2022 PMMNG Meeting: "Approaching the Conversation: Supporting Patient-Provider Communication in Medical Treatment Decisions"
The Philadelphia Multiple Myeloma Networking Group (PMMNG) will hold our June meeting on Saturday June 11, from 1:30 - 3:00 PM.
This presentation will introduce values-based approaches that individuals can use for efficiently and effectively communicating with their medical team when making treatment decisions. One specific tool that is available called Open to Options will be presented.

Morgan Rakay, MA, LPC, BC-DMT is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist who specializes in working with chronic, progressive, and advanced illness, caregivers, and grief/loss. Morgan is also an Advance Care Planning Specialist, and carries a commitment to values-based and collaborative decisions throughout her work. Morgan runs a small private practice in Philadelphia, hosts community education and movement workshops, and is a Program Coordinator for Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia.
Stephanie Rusbuldt, MS, NCC, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds a master’s degree in counseling from Neumann University in Aston, PA. She also holds a certificate in Thanatology from Hood College in Frederick, MD. She specializes in working with individuals who are navigating cancer, as well as loss and grief. She has worked at Cancer Support Community Greater Philadelphia since 2017 and currently serves as the Senior Program Manager for the organization, providing both individual and group support.
Anita Shaft, LMSW, began with Cancer Support Community as a program manager and Noogieland Coordinator at her local affiliate in 2002 and transitioned to the Cancer Support Helpline in 2020. Over her tenure, Anita has facilitated a variety of support groups for those with a diagnosis as well as caregivers. Anita was selected to be a part of the Open to Options (O2O) Training Team and has been involved with O2O since the initial affiliate training O2O roll-out. Additionally, Anita has dedicated much of her ongoing training in mindfulness and neuroplasticity with certifications in Positive Neuroplasticity and Compassion Fatigue.
