January 2026 PMMNG Meeting: "Interpetting Multiple Myeloma Blood Tests" Presented by Dr. Kamran M Mirza

Our next monthly PMMNG meeting will be Saturday January 10, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 PM ET. This meeting will be conducted by Zoom.
Please note the earlier than usual starting time. We want to give our speaker some extra time and to allow for lots of questions.
Our speaker will be Dr Kamran M Mirza, MD, PhD, FCAP, FASCP, professor Hematopathology, University of Michigan Medical School. Dr Mirza will be discussing interpreting blood tests for myeloma patients, why doctors order blood tests, making sense of the CBC, how blood results guide treatment, when out of range numbers matter and when they don't. We hope you all can join us for this important discussion from a hematopathogy perspective.
Dr Kamran M Mirza is a clinical professor in the Dept of Pathology at Michigan Medicine (Univ of Michigan) where he holds the Godfrey Dorr Stobbe endowed Chair for Pathology education. He is a hematopathologist, which is a specialist in diagnosing diseases of the blood, bone marrow and lymph nodes. He serves as assistant chair of education and the director of the division of training programs and communication. He serves as co-chair for the department patient and families advisory council (PFAC) and on the American Society of Clinical Pathology Patient Champions Steering Committee.
As always, patients and care partners are welcome to attend.
PMMNG members are not physicians, so please consult with your own medical team about any information regarding diagnosis, prognosis, and/or treatment that you get from the meeting.
All PMMNG members will receive a meeting invitation via email. If you are new to the group, contact Barbara Falkowitz ([email protected]) to receive the meeting link.
