The Summer 2017 issue of Myeloma Minutes, published by the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF), features an article describing our Miles for Myeloma 5K fundraiser. The 2017 Miles for Myeloma 5K raised nearly $100,000 for the IMF. 2017 marked the ninth year we've held the Miles for Myeloma fundraiser.
PMMNG members (and co-founders) Marilyn and Sharon Alexander were featured in an April 17 article in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The PMMNG's 10th annual Miles for Myeloma 5K Walk/Run was held on Saturday April 28, 2018 in Philadelphia. For the first time in several years, the weather cooperated, and we had a perfect day for the event. Myeloma patients, caregivers, friends, and family members came out to support one another and to raise money to go to research toward finding a cure for multiple myeloma. Together, we raised over $74,000!
Thanks again to everyone who participated and made the 2018 Miles for Myeloma 5K Walk/Run one of our best Miles for Myeloma events ever!
First up – an awesome video of the event created by Ilana Kenville from the IMF.

We had a great turnout and lots of fun. Special thanks to Carolyn Redmond, our Miles 4 Myeloma Race Director and to the members of the Miles for Myeloma Planning Committee who all put in a ton of work to prepare for the event since even before the first of the year - Barbara Falkowitz, Cynthia Chmielewski, Doug Farrell, Maddie Hunter, Kate Farrell, Ken Kaplan, Marilyn Alexander, Phil Falkowitz, and Sharon Alexander. Also, thanks to our many race day volunteers.
